How pilates can help if you sit at a desk all day

Sitting at a desk for extended periods of time can be bad for your mental health, cause back pain and can also increase the risk of chronic health problems, such as some cancers, diabetes and heart problems.

Pilates can help because it reduces stress and anxiety, as well as improves posture and strength.

For the days when you can’t make it to the studio, here is a simple routine to get you moving and combat the long day at the desk:

Repeat 3 times:

–          Ab curl x 20

–          Toe taps x 20

–          Pilates push ups x 10

–          Clams (both sides) x 20

–          1 squat, 1 lunge (both sides) x 10

–          Pike x 60 seconds

–          Plank x 60 seconds
